President-Executive Jody Sabroe (Edmonton, AB) Jody is a project assistant for an engineering firm in Edmonton. Jody and her husband Dave became actively involved in Saskatchewan prior to relocating to Alberta. One of Jody's children (Nicole) has spina bifida. | Vice-President - Executive Linda Randall (Monrose BC) Linda was born in 1956 with Spina Bifida at a time when there was no assoiation or supports to help her family face the challenges to come. Now as a mother of 2, she is grateful to know that as science identifies genetic and hereditary links, that there is somewhere to go for support, information and advocacy. She has been involved with SBHAC since 1983 in some capacity or other andhas seen the organization flourish and sometimes even flounder. Linda has been able to stand up for people living with SB&H using her personal connection. Linda is a strong proponent to ensuring that SBHAC continues to advocate, fund credible research projects and develop further education materials to increase the overall awareness in Canada and to contine to work towards decreasing the incieence of neural tube defects. | Treasurer - Executive Louise Santerre (Vancouver BC) | Past-President Lorelei Fletcher (Regina, SK) Lorelei is the mom of a daughter with Spina Bifida and is a Health Care Attendant in a geriatric facility in Regina. Lorelei began her association with SBHASS soon after her daugher was born seekign information and support. Nominated in 2008 for Women of Distinction Award through Flare Magazine, Lorelei is an active community leader. Lorelei has a daughter in nursing in Saskatoon and an 18 year old son in Regina. | Secretary Colleen Talbot (Vancouver, BC)
Colleen Talbot has been involved at a local and national level for many years, starting shortly after her son was born with spina bifida in 1980. She strongly believes in the importance of a strong united voice for individuals with sb&h and their families. Colleen is currently the Chair of the Coquitlam Foundation and past chair of the Coquitlam Public Library. | Director Judi Haddy (Vancouver BC) Judi left teaching primary grades and went to work at B.C. Children’s Hospital in January of 1984. Judi has been with the Spinal Cord Clinic (formerly the Spina Bifida Clinic) since March of 1994. As the clinic secretary she has had the opportunity to get to know many kids, their families and their needs. Judi took a year at home to learn how to be a mom again during which time she managed the office of the SBHABC. Judi joined the Board of Directors of the SBHABC in 1999 and has been active ever since. Judi is happy to say that she is part of SBHAC and looking forward to the future. | Director David Dunphy (Stratford PEI) David has been a resident of Stratford, PEI for the past 23 years. David and his wife Donna have three children: Jonathan, Jillian & Abby. David is a UPEI Graduate (Bachelor of Business Administration) achieving his CA designation working at Coopers & Lybrand (now Arsenault Best Cameron Ellis) David is currently employed as the Business Development Manager with EastLink in PEI David has been very active in the community as a Councillor - Community of Bunbury - 1991-1995, Councillor - Town of Stratford - 2004-2006 and the Chair - Finance & Administration Committee (Town of Stratford) - 2004-2006 David has been President, VP & Treasurer of SBAH PEI, Treasurer of United Way of PEI (currently), minor hockey coach & manager, soccer coach, cub & scout leader as well as participating in many Food Drives for Food Banks and Junior Achievement of PEI - Economics of Staying in School. David is a new appointee to the SBHAC Board of Directors | Director Ken Stickle (Peterborough ON)
Ken is a retired GE Canada Employee and member of the CEP. Ken spent 40 years in marketing and materials management before retiring in 2003. Married and father of two (Shawn and Kendra) and granddaughter (AKA One Young Girlfriend) Kailynn is the apple of his eye. In addition to joining the Board of SBHAC in 2004, Ken is an active member of the Kawartha Credit Union Board of Directors in his community and remains active in the CEP. | Director Sarah Williams (Cow Bay NS) Sarah is a Technical Engineer with Bell and manages switch implementation for NS, NB and PEI. Mom to university bound Kevin and active leader in SBHANS, Sarah had been on the SBHAC Board of Directors for a number of years. Sarah is active in her home community. | Director Wendy Sol (Winnipeg MB) Wendy is a National Representative for the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union (CEP). As a director with special skills; Wendy’s perspective provides SBHAC with a vital connection to one of our major supporters – CEP. | Director Dr. William Arnold (Qualicum Beach BC) | Director Chera Giesbrecht (Winnipeg MB) | Director Doug McEwen (Edmonton AB) | Director Brent Buss (Edmonton AB) | |
